Cassie’s husband speaks out following her testimony at Diddy trial and explains his feelings while listening to the allegations
Cassie Ventura’s husband has issued a heartfelt statement about his wife following her tough testimony and cross-examination in the Diddy trial.
This week, the high-profile court case brought against Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, saw his former girlfriend take to the stand to deliver an emotional testimony.
The rapper stands accused of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution since his arrest last year, all of which he denies.
On the stand in the New York court room, Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura alleged she was physically abused at the hands of Combs, whom she dated for 11 years between 2007 to 2018, and made to participate in his so-called ‘freak off’ sex parties.

The now 38-year-old said ‘freak offs’ involved her having sex with other men, usually male escorts, while Combs allegedly watched and directed – which included one instance of an escort urinating into her mouth.
Now, her husband Alex Fine has spoken out about how he feels watching and listening to the harrowing testimony.
The 32-year-old tied the knot to Cassie in 2019 after the pair met not long after her relationship with Combs came to an end.
They have two children together with a third on the way, with Cassie testifying about the apparent abuse she endured for a decade while eight months pregnant.
As the trial ended its first week on Friday (May 16), Alex issued a statement that addressed Combs ‘and all of those who helped him along the way’, which Cassie’s lawyer Douglas Wigdor read outside the court.
It reads: “I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her,.
“Please know this: You did not. You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room.”

Turning to address some of the ‘speculation online’, he said: “I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie.
“She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her. All I have done is love her as she has loved me.”
In Cassie’s heartbreaking testimony, she claimed the sex parties were ‘humiliating’ and caused an enormous physical toll on her body, ranging from ‘painful’ infections and mouth sores to urinary tract infections (UTIs), and that she had ‘PTSD’ when the relationship ended.
The jury were also shown a CCTV clip that showed Combs attacking her inside a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 which Cassie said happened after she attempted to ‘flee’ from a freak-off that turned violent.

Alex has continued to stand by Cassie’s side throughout the ordeal, writing on Instagram when that footage resurfaced: “Men who hit women aren’t men.”
In 2019, he also reportedly ran a marathon to raise awareness of domestic violence.
In his statement this week, he continued to praise the ‘bravery’ of his wife, saying: “You did not break the soul of a mother who gives the best hugs and plays the silliest games with our little girls. You did not break the woman who has made me a better man.”
Meanwhile in court, the defense suggested Cassie loved Combs and that her involvement in the ‘freak-offs’ were consensual.
The trial continues.

Cassie Ventura broke down as she came to the end of her testimony in court as the Diddy trial continued on Wednesday (May 14).
The high-profile court trial of Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, started on Monday (May 12) after the rapper was arrested and charged on suspicion of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion – all of which he denies.
After the opening remarks by both prosecution and defence were delivered on Monday (May 12), his ex girlfriend, Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, took to the stand on Tuesday (May 13) to detail how Combs allegedly would ‘punish’ her during their relationship, which lasted on-and-off from 2007 to 2018.
Her testimony continued on Wednesday, as a heavily-pregnant Ventura burst into tears when asked why she’d decided to testify.
“I can’t carry this anymore,” she told the court, as per Sky News. “I can’t carry the shame, the guilt, the way he treated people like they were disposable.

“What’s right is right, what’s wrong is wrong. I came here to do the right thing.”
The trial continues today (Thursday May 15), with Combs’ defence lawyers due to cross examine the 38-year-old model.
Here’s a look at everything she’s alleged in court…
Cassie tried to avoid one particular thing during freak-offs
Dissecting the alleged freak-offs at length, Ventura said they made her feel ‘horrible about myself’ and ‘humiliated’.
When asked in court if there was anything specific she would try to avoid in the supposed sex ‘parties’, Ventura said: “I tried to avoid kissing, it seems too intimate. But [Combs] told me to do it, to kiss the escorts.”
Ventura also claimed Combs would ‘blackmail’ her with recordings of her engaging in sexual acts, referring to one incident on the 29th birthday where he ‘pulled’ her away from her friends for a ‘freak off’.
Rape allegations

During her time on the stand, Ventura alleged that Combs raped her at her Los Angeles home after she just told him she wanted to break off their relationship.
“I just remember crying and saying no, but it was very fast,” she said.
She went on to tell jurors she did engage in consensual sex on a subsequent occasion, explaining: “We’d been together for over 10 years. You just don’t turn feelings off.”
Diddy accused of blackmailing Cassie on multiple occasions
“It is horrible and disgusting. No one should do that to anyone,” she said of the freak-offs and their recordings. “It could ruin everything I worked for, make me look like a sl*t. I wasn’t supposed to be on those videos. I didn’t want to be in them.”
The mom also alleged Combs threatened to release the videos of her when she started dating someone else.
She also spoke about a trip to Cannes in 2013, after which she said the rapper began playing a recording of a freak off on his laptop on a commercial flight to New York, with other people around them – telling her he was ‘going to embarrass me and release them’.

Ventura also spoke about how she hid her injuries from loved ones to shield them against the extent of Comb’s violence.
In one alleged incident, she says she suffered a ‘pretty significant gash’ above her left eye after he threw her into a bed frame.
Rather than go to hospital, his security staff took her to a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, she said.
Jurors were shown photos of her with a swollen lip following the incident as she testified.
She said a friend of hers saw her injuries and was ‘super upset’ because she’d ‘seen me with black eyes and busted lips before’.
Diddy’s alleged threats to her and Kid Cudi
Cassie spoke of how she briefly dated Scott Mescudi, better known as singer and rapper Kid Cudi, in 2011.
She alleges Combs lunged at her with a corkscrew and kicked her in the back when he found out.
He then threatened to blow up Mescudi’s car.
The physical and mental impacts of freak-offs

Asked if the freak offs impacted her health, Ventura said she had stomach problems and frequently developed urinary tract infections (UTIs).
She was also affected mentally, she told the court, saying they made her feel ‘really empty’ and ‘gross’.
Early in 2023, she said she started suffering from ‘flashbacks’ and had suicidal thoughts, so went to rehab and trauma therapy.
Ventura said it is ‘impossible to know’ how many freak offs she participated in, but it was in the hundreds.
Asked if she has been involved in any since ending the relationship in 2018, she replied: “No.”
What happened at the freak-offs?
Previously, Cassie claimed that the longest ‘freak-off’ she was made to take part in lasted four days.
Explaining the alleged ‘freak-offs’, Cassie said they were ‘sexual encounter[s] called voyeurism’ where Combs would watch her have sex with another man.
Cassie recalled what happened when she was first introduced to these so-called ‘freak-off’ parties.
“I remember my stomach falling to my butt,” she said. “Just the nervousness and confusion… I had just turned 22.”
Cassie claims it involved hiring an escort and Combs would watch her with another man while directing them, as per the BBC.
She told how she didn’t want to be involved, but ultimately did so because she ‘loved him [Combs] very much’ and ‘wanted to make him happy’.
One horrific act alleged was when Ventura ‘felt like she was choking’ after Combs ‘made an escort urinate into her mouth’.
What Combs’ attorney has said
In response to the news of Combs’ arrest, his attorney Marc Agnifilo told UNILAD at the time: “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.
“To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
The trial is expected to last around eight weeks. If convicted, Combs faces up to life in prison.
UNILAD has contacted representatives for Combs and Ventura for comment.
The trial continues.

Warning: This article contains discussion of sexual assault which some readers may find distressing.
Diddy’s ex-girlfriend and R&B star Cassie has broken down in tears as she was quizzed on alleged ‘freak offs’ that are believed to have taken place at the rapper’s residency.
As the trial into the multiple allegations Diddy, real name Sean Combs, has been accused of – which includes racketeering and sex trafficking by force, and fraud or coercion – continues, Casandra Ventura is giving evidence against the 55-year-old.
Speaking in court today, prosecutor Emily A. Johnson said per Inner City Press: “Would you give the $20 million back if you hadn’t have had to do freak offs?”
Referring to the abuse settlement the pair reached back in 2023, when Cassie alleged that had raped her. Just a day after she accused him of both rape and sex trafficking, the pair reached a settlement.

Diddy’s defense lawyer Anna Estevao replied: “Objection!”
To which the judge overruled.
Cassie replied: “I would give it back to get my agency back.”
Before Johnson asked: “Did he beat you during freak offs?”
Cassie responds: “Yes [starts crying].”
The 38-year-old and Combs were on-and-off dating for more than a decade, having officially entered into a relationship in 2007 – after two years of working together.
Cassie was 19 years old when she was signed by a then 37-year-old Combs, who owns the label Bad Boy Records.
Prosecutor Johnson went on: “Were you open to freak offs at the beginning?”
Cassie replied: “At the beginning.”
Johnson then asked: “Did you tell him when you no longer wanted to do them?”
“Yes. More than once,” Cassie explained.
Continuing, Johnson said: “What concerns did you have about saying no to freak offs?”
To which Cassie responded: “Safety, career, love”
The defense went on to claim Cassie knew what she was getting involved in, adding that the freak offs were ‘Mr. Combs’ sexual preference’.
Estevao told the court: “It was part of being his [Diddy’s] girlfriend.”

Combs has been charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, charges he’s continued to deny.
The indictment accuses Combs and others in his enterprise of ‘wield[ing] the power and prestige of Combs’ role at the Combs Business to intimidate, threaten and lure female victims into Combs’ orbit, often under the pretence of a romantic relationship’.
With the ‘assistance of members and associates’, the document claims Combs ‘transported commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally’ and ‘then used force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers that Combs referred to as, among other things, ‘freak offs”.

Diddy’s trial has gotten underway and his former girlfriend Cassie has spoken out in length about his alleged ‘freak off’ parties.
Cassandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, was called to the stand in the trial for her former partner Diddy, real name Sean Combs, and gave insights into their relationship.
A point of particular contention for the case were the rapper and producer’s notorious ‘freak off parties’.
It is here prosecutors believe the illegal actions took place. He was arrested last year September in New York and has been charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
He has repeatedly denied all of the charges that he faces.
Following the opening remarks on May 12, the next day Cassie gave insights into the nature of these parties hosted by Diddy.

Explaining ‘freak-offs’, Cassie said they were ‘sexual encounter[s] called voyeurism’ where Combs would watch her have sex with another man.
Cassie claims it involved hiring an escort and Combs would watch her with another man while directing them, as per the BBC.
She explained in court how she didn’t want to be involved, but ultimately did so because she ‘loved him [Diddy] very much’ and ‘wanted to make him happy’.
She also revealed that the parties became an all encompassing aspect of her relationship with the rapper.
She stated: “The freak offs became a job. There was no time to do anything else but do them then try to recover.”
Assistant United States Attorney Emily Johnson, followed up and asked: “How much time in your week would freak offs take?
Cassie responded: “The longest was four days, significant periods of time.”

Cassie also spoke about the alleged nature of their relationship and claimed that Combs was abusive towards her.
Explaining to Johnson, she said that his moods would vary day to day and that when it ‘swung’ he would show ‘anger’.
Speaking of how it impacted her, she said: “Greatly. The next thing I knew I was getting hit in the face. There was also psychological abuse. He’d tell me to watch my mouth, change my face.”
Diddy has faced accusations of being violent towards Cassie when a CCTV video was made public that appeared to show him attacking Cassie inside a Los Angeles hotel back in 2016.

Warning: This article contains allegations of sex trafficking, abuse and assault which some readers may find distressing.
Sean Combs’ daughters left the courtroom twice earlier in the week before not appearing at all the following day.
On May 12, the sex trafficking trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs began in Manhattan federal court – the rapper indicted by a grand jury and arrested in September last year.
The 55-year-old is charged with racketeering conspiracy, two charges of sex trafficking and two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution – the rapper having denied all charges.
Multiple people have called to the stand, including R&B singer and dancer Cassie – real name Casandra Ventura – a former partner of Combs who’s detailed allegations of rape and abuse.
Ventura’s husband, Alex Fine, has been supporting her showing up to court and on Combs’ side, his mother, Janice Combs, and all of his adult children have attended the trial so far.
Combs’ children include those he shares with model and actor Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018.
The pair share Christian ‘King’ Combs, 27, and 18-year-old twins D’Lila Star and Jessie James Combs.
Combs also has an adopted son from Porter’s previous relationship with Al B. Sure! named Quincy Taylor Brown, 33.
He also has a 31-year-old son named Justin Dior Combs from his relationship with Misa Hylton, an 18-year-old daughter named Chance Combs from his relationship with Sarah Chapman and a two-year-old daughter named Love Sean Combs from his relationship with Dana Tran.
A source close to the family told CNN the family are ‘united’ in their support for Combs.
However, during the first day of proceedings, it’s reported Combs’ daughters left the courtroom twice as testimony was given by a 41-year-old named Daniel Phillip, who alleged he was paid $5,000 to have sex with Ventura while the rapper watched, The Independent reports.
Combs’ twin daughters were also reportedly not present at the trial yesterday as a result of upcoming preparations for their school prom – reported by CNN as being set to take place on Saturday.

Who are Diddy’s twin daughters?
Combs welcomed the twins in 2006, a year before he and Porter parted ways.
Following Porter’s passing, Combs became more involved in his children’s lives, telling Essence in April 2019 he used to be a ‘part-time’ father, but had resolved to be more ‘present’.
The twins performed with Combs on stage at the VMAs in 2023 as back-up dancers.
Combs’ other children remained in the courtroom, even when the 2016 surveillance footage detailing his assault on then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was played.
